Leaving computer on 24 hours a day

Hi

Myself:
I have my monitor set to go off in 15 min. of no use.
Hard drive to go off after 30 min. of no use.
Shut down everything at my desk main power switch if I'm
not going to be using the computer in the next couple hours.

I have used this same procedure with my five year old IBM
and it has had no hardware problems.

Leaving on is a waste of power. (money, unless you get free power)
Also the fans are pulling dust into your computer when they are running.
Just no reason to leave a computer on when no needed.

I agree with OLE....., all day for for 2 uses? A waste of electricity and wear.

Try the turn off procedure, computer will last longer!
